AVG Installation Fails

If you are installing AVG and the installation process fails, there may be an option to click “Go online to learn about this issue” in the AVG installation error dialogue. Clicking on this link will show you specific instructions for the particular situation, if available.

If no specific solution is provided, please do the following:

Uninstall AVG, run removal tool and re-install AVG.

If you are installing AVG and the installation process fails, there are several steps you can take to install AVG successfully:

Make sure you are installing AVG under an account with administrative rights – Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP.

Always use the latest AVG installation file

Close all running programs and disable security applications

Remove possible conflicting applications

AVG installation may also fail when there is a conflicting application installed on your computer, such as another anti-virus, anti-malware or internet security program. We recommend to remove any such program before installing AVG.

Disable User Account Control (UAC) (Windows Vista and Windows 7 only)
