Step 1:
Create a new group
- Open the AVG admin console
- Right click on the “Stations” located on the left column
- Click “New group”
- Name the group
- Click on “OK”

Step 2:
Move the stations to the group.
- Click on the group under “Settings” in which the five stations are
currently located
- The stations will be located in the middle column
- Right click each station in turn and select “Add to the group”
- Click on the name of the group you want to move it to
- Click “OK”

Step 3:
Apply the licence to the group.
- Right click on the group in the left hand column
- Click “Shared setting for group”
- Click “Licence”
- Enter the licence information for the five machines
- Click “Apply”
- Click “OK”

Step 4:
Synchronize the settings.
- Right click on the group on the left hand column
- Click “Synchronize settings”

2. Press the “Print Screen” key on your keyboard. It is typically in the top row, next to the      key “F12.”

3. Open MS Paint (available in Accessories in the Start menu).

4. Press Ctrl+V to insert the picture.

5. Save the picture.

Tip: Go to menu File and select Save as to choose the format of the saved picture. JPG or PNG are usually the best.

The welcome screen also contains the license agreement. The AVG license agreement is a legal document specifying the conditions of AVG software usage. To proceed with the installation, you need to go through the license agreement and click Accept.

LICENSE ACTIVATION
Now you need to enter your AVG license number. We recommend that you copy and paste the license number from the email we sent you after the purchase.

After the license is entered, click Next to proceed to the next step.

SYSTEM STATE CHECK
The installation wizard will now check whether there are any incompatible applications on your computer. If such an application is detected, the installation wizard will inform you. We recommend uninstalling any detected incompatible software to prevent future problems with stability or computer performance. After doing so, please restart the AVG installation.

If no incompatible application is found, the installation will proceed to the next step automatically.

INSTALLATION TYPE SELECTION
Depending on whether AVG is already present on your computer, you will be offered different options in this step.
If there is no previous version of AVG installed on the computer, you will be able to choose between the Quick Install and Custom Install options:
• Express Install is the recommended choice for most users and will not prompt you for a detailed configuration.

• With the Custom Install option, you can change installation settings, manually select the AVG components you wish to install, etc.

If AVG software is already installed on the computer, you will be presented with five different choices:
• Speed up my PC – Choose this option to get a free PC TuneUp.
• Update my AVG product – This option runs AVG update.
• Repair installation – This option repairs or reinstalls damaged or missing AVG components.
• Add/Remove Features – Choose this option to add or remove AVG components.
• Uninstall – This option removes the AVG program from your PC.

After choosing one of the available options, click Next to proceed to the next step.

COMPONENTS SELECTION
This step is only displayed if you previously selected the Custom installation or Add or remove componentsoptions. You can skip this dialog (by clicking Next) if it does not concern you.
This dialog allows you to choose what parts of AVG will be installed. You can select or deselect any of the options. If the check box next to the item is not checked, the relevant part will not be available after the installation is completed. If the check box is checked, the option will be installed. In addition to the components designed for protecting your computer from security threats, the Additional installed languages option allows you to choose which languages can be available in AVG after installation. The language used in the installation wizard is always used as the default selection.
Note: You may see a different number of components when installing your AVG. The available components are displayed based on the AVG edition you have purchased.

Click Next to proceed with the installation.

INSTALLATION PROGRESS

Please wait while the files are being copied on the computer (the window may become non-responsive for a short period during the installation). If you are using the AVG Online Installer, all needed files will be downloaded now.

After the installation is finished, the installation result will appear. The result screen also enables you to register the program to get up-to-date product information and news.

ISSUES WITH AVG 2013 INSTALLATION
If you encounter any issue while installing AVG, please contact AVG Customer Services using the web form. To provide us with the most complete information, thereby allowing us to provide you with a solution in the shortest possible time, please attach the AVG installation log files to your request:
1. Open the following folder:
for Windows XP:
c:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Local Settings\Application Data\MFAData\logs\
for Windows Vista / Windows 7:
c:\Users\user_name\Local Settings\Application Data\MFAData\logs\
2. In this folder locate “mfa-yyyymmdd-xxxxxx.log” and “msi-yyyymmdd-xxxxxx.log”.
3. Send all files to AVG Customer Services.

• Run AVG.
• Click Support in the top right corner.
• Your AVG License Number is shown in the License information field within this window.
• Use the copy to clipboard button to take the license number to the clipboard. Then enter the number into the text field using CTRL+V shortcut.

Step 1.

In the AVG Admin Console user interface go to Tools-> Shared settings for stations

Step 2.

In the “Exceptions” sub-menu click “Add exception”

Step 3.

Select the exception type, in this case “file” as we are making an application exception.

Step 4.

Select the path on which you wish to create the exception.

Step 5.

Select the application and click “open”.

Step 6.

Click “OK” to save.

Step 7.

Click “apply” and the “OK” to save the changes.

Step 8.

In the AVG Admin Console user interface right click on “stations” select “shared settings for stations and then ” synchronize settings”

Step 9.

As shown below in the AVG Admin console user interface you will see that the request for configuration synchronization of all stations was sent and finished.

in the admin console interface click tools then select “shared settings for stations”

Under the “update” sub-menu click “URL” ans thn click “ADD” and enter the server details.

thereafter click “ok” and then “APPLY” and close the advanced settings window.

Step 3.

In the AVG data center right click “stations and select “shared settings for stations ” and then “synchronize settings”

Step 1.
In the stations menu right click on the station you wish to upgrade,
Under the “tasks related to update” option select “ask to perform program update”

Step 2.
Select “Upgrade to the 2013 version now”
It is at your own discretion to choose whether to restart the workstation automatically,
However the user will have 20 minutes to save his/her work before the workstation shuts down.

Step 3.
The upgrade process has now started.

Step 4.
The upgrade process has been finished.

After the final step has completed and the server indicates the upgrade process the workstation should have the 2013 version within 10 or 15 minutes,
Thereafter the system shutdown window will appear and the workstation completes the restart AVG 2013 should be successfully installed on the workstation.

To install AVG 2013 Business Edition onto your server, download the latest install files from www.avgsa.co.za/downloads

When the downloads are complete open the Server installation file (avg_msw_x86_all_2013_2890a6006.exe/avg_msw_x64_all_2013_2890a6006.exe).

Step 2.
Read and accept the licence agreement.

Step 3.
Enter your licence key and click next.

Step 4.
Choose the type of install with which you wish to proceed.

Step 5.
Choose to install AVG secure search and AVG security toolbar.

Step 6.
AVG is now installed.

To install AVG 2013 admin console onto your server, download the latest install files from www.avgsa.co.za/downloads

The install files needed are:
• AVG 2013 for Server
• AVG 2013 for Workstation
• AVG 2013 Admin console

These install files can be saved on your desktop or preferred destination.

Installing AVG Admin console.

Step 1. Open the AVG Admin console install file (avg_rad_x86_all_2013_2813.exe/avg_rad_x64_all_2013_2813.exe).
Select your preferred language.

Step 2.
Read through and accept the licence agreement.

Step 3.
Enter your licence Key.

Step 4.
If you already have admin console 2012 the set up will detect this and provide you with an option to upgrade.

Step 5.
Select the type of installation with which you wish to proceed.

Step 6.
Select the components you wish to install.

Step 7.
Admin console is now installed on your server, click next to open the Server deployment wizard.

Step 8.
Follow the steps through the Deployment wizard.

Step 9.
Choose your server role/s.

Step 10.
Since the setup already detected that a previous version of AVG admin console was installed it automatically recommends a backup,
This backup will keep your current AVG database center database as is.

Step 11.

Select the option to update the AVG Data center database.

Step 12.
If your Admin server had a username and password set previously you may enter it here,
If you did not have a username and password you may click next and proceed.

Step 13.
Select the web server from which your admin server will receive updates.

Step 14.
Add the admin server to the list where workstations will receive updates.

Step 15.
Click Deploy to Deploy settings.

Step 16.
The AVG admin server Deployment has completed successfully.
